Clean & Clear uncovered an insight that teen girls want to be loved and accepted for who they are, but are afraid of being judged while figuring it out. The Clean & Clear campaign, “See The Real Me” is built on the idea that it takes courage to be your real self. It was created to help girls remove that dirt, oil, fear and doubt from their lives, so that they would feel happy in their own skin and be willing to show the world the real them – who ever that happens to be today.
This latest spot ran one time only, during the MTV Video Music Awards, pushing the very important message that "the best acceptance speeches are the ones we give ourselves". Though it was a one night broadcast event the social push behind it was a huge success, starting an important conversation among the teen target by using the hashtag #selfacceptancespeech.
